Created by Victor J. “Trader Vic” Bergeron in 1944, the Mai Tai became a symbol of Tiki culture. Ingredients

45 ml 1 1/2 fl oz White rum

22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz Orange curaçao
-
22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz Fresh lime juice
-
22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz Orgeat syrup
-
15 ml 1/2 fl oz Dark rum
-
Crushed ice
-
Lime wheel
-
Mint sprig

Instructions
- Add the white rum, orange curaçao, lime juice, and orgeat syrup into a shaker filled with crushed ice.
- Shake lightly for about 15 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients.
- Pour the mixture, ice and all, into a double rocks glass.
- Slowly float the dark rum on top by pouring it over the back of a spoon to create a layered effect.
- Garnish with a lime wheel and a sprig of mint.
