Ingredients

  • 45 ml 1 1/2 fl oz Tequila

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz Yuzu juice

  • 15 ml 1/3 fl oz Triple sec

  • 10 ml 1/3 fl oz Simple syrup

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz Fresh lime juice

  • Salt

  • Ice cubes

  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • Citrus press
  • Coupe or Margarita glass

Instructions

  • Start by rimming your margarita glass with salt. To do this, run a lime wedge around the rim of the glass, then dip the rim into a plate of coarse salt. Set the glass aside.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, yuzu juice, triple sec, simple syrup, and fresh lime juice.
  • Fill the shaker with ice cubes. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled.
  • Use a strainer to pour the mixture into the prepared margarita glass over fresh ice.
  • Optionally, garnish with a lime wheel or a slice of yuzu on the rim of the glass.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the amount of simple syrup to suit your taste if you prefer a sweeter or more tart margarita.
  • If you can’t find fresh yuzu juice, you can use bottled yuzu juice which is available at most Asian grocery stores.
