Virgin Margarita Cocktail Recipe

The virgin margarita strips away the tequila but keeps everything that makes the classic sing: bright lime, subtle orange sweetness, and that iconic salted rim. Fresh citrus juice does the heavy lifting here, creating a drink that refreshes without needing alcohol to justify its place on the table.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz fresh lime juice

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz fresh orange juice

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz agave syrup

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz sparkling water

  • Coarse sea salt for rim

  • ice

  • lwedge for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Jigger
  • Citrus press
  • Rock glass

Instructions

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass, then dip it into the coarse salt spread on a small plate. Tap gently to remove excess.
  • Fill the glass with ice and set aside.
  • Add lime juice, orange juice, and agave syrup to your cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds until well chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into your prepared glass over fresh ice.
  • Top with sparkling water and give it one gentle stir to combine.
  • Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the agave syrup based on your citrus. If your limes are particularly tart, add an extra of agave. Taste before adding the sparkling water and correct as needed.
