In a mixing glass, combine rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and Angostura bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice. Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for 10-20 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients. Discard the ice from the chilled coupe or martini glass. Rinse the glass with a small amount of absinthe by pouring it into the glass, swirling it around to coat the interior, and discarding the excess. Carefully pour the chilled and stirred cocktail mixture into the rinsed glass. Serve immediately and enjoy! Notes Rinsing the glass with absinthe provides a subtle hint of its flavor without overpowering the cocktail.
