Ingredients

  • 40 ml 1 1/2 fl oz white rum

  • 20 ml 2/3 fl oz fresh lime juice

  • 10 ml 1/2 fl oz simple syrup

Equipment

  • shaker
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Jigger or measuring cup
  • Citrus press (optional)
  • coupe or martini glass

Instructions

  • Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Pour white rum into the shaker.
  • Squeeze fresh lime juice and add it to the shaker.
  • Add simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty.
  • Strain the mixture into your chilled cocktail glass.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel or twist, if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness of your Daiquiri by increasing or decreasing the amount of simple syrup to tast. Fresh, ripe limes will yiel the best results for this classic cocktail.
