Ingredients

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz aged rum

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz orange curaçao

  • 22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz fresh lime juice

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz orgeat syrup

  • 7.5 ml 1/4 fl oz rich Demerara syrup (2:1)

  • Crushed ice

  • Mint sprig, for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Double Old Fashioned glass

Instructions

  • Squeeze the lime juice and set it aside. Gather all other ingredients and have your glassware ready.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the aged rum, orange curaçao, fresh lime juice, orgeat syrup, and rich Demerara syrup. Fill the shaker with crushed ice and shake vigorously for about 10-15 seconds.
  • Strain the mixture into a double Old Fashioned glass filled with crushed ice. Add more ice if necessary to fill the glass.
  • Garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
