60 ml 2 fl oz rye whiskey
1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon simple syrup
2 dashes 2 dashes Angostura bitters
Orange peel (for garnish)

Instructions
- Start by chilling your Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice water while you prepare the drink.
- In a mixing glass, combine the rye whiskey, simple syrup, and Angostura bitters.
- Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
- Discard the ice water from your serving glass, and strain the cocktail into the chilled glass over a large ice cube, if desired.
- Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and twisting it, then drop the peel into the glass for garnish.
