Ingredients

  • 45 ml 45 Aged Rum

  • 45 ml 45 Sweet Vermouth

  • 2 dashes 2 Orange Bitters

  • Ice Cubes

  • Orange Peel for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing Glass
  • Bar Spoon
  • Jigger
  • Hawthorne Strainer
  • Coupe glass

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail glass with ice to chill it, then set it aside.
  • Using the jigger, measure and pour aged rum, sweet vermouth, and add 2 dashes of orange bitters into the mixing glass.
  • Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well-chilled.
  • Use the Hawthorne strainer to strain the mixture into the chilled cocktail glass.
  • Twist an orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it in or place it on the rim of the glass for garnish.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, use a well-aged rum which adds depth and complexity to the cocktail.
