Using the jigger, measure and pour aged rum, sweet vermouth, and add 2 dashes of orange bitters into the mixing glass. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well-chilled. Use the Hawthorne strainer to strain the mixture into the chilled cocktail glass. Twist an orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it in or place it on the rim of the glass for garnish. Notes For the best flavor, use a well-aged rum which adds depth and complexity to the cocktail.
