Ingredients

  • 3 3 cucumber slices

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz agave nectar

  • 45 ml 1 1/2 fl oz mezcal

  • 22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz freshly squeezed lime juice

  • 22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz passion fruit puree

  • 120 ml 4 fl oz chilled ginger beer

  •  cucumber slice (for garnish)

  • candied ginger (for garnish)

  • chile powder (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Moscow mule mug
  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Jigger
  • Muddler
  • Bar spoon

Instructions

  • Place cucumber slices in the bottom of a cocktail shaker and add the agave nectar.
  • Gently muddle the cucumber to release its flavor without completely crushing it.
  • Add the mezcal, fresh lime juice, and passion fruit puree to the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until well-chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into a copper mug filled with fresh ice.
  • Top with chilled ginger beer.
  • Garnish with a cucumber slice, a piece of candied ginger, and a light dusting of chile powder.

Notes

  • For an extra you can rim the glass with a mixture of salt and chile powder.
