Ingredients

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz blanco tequila

  • 90 ml 3 fl oz fresh mango puree

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz fresh lime juice

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz Triple Sec

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz simple syrup

  • Ice cubes

  • 1 tablespoon 1 coarse salt

  • Lime wheel and mango slice for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Jigger
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Blender
  • Margarita glass

Instructions

  • If using fresh mango, peel and cube the mango, then blend the chunks until smooth to create a puree.
  • If desired, prepare the glass by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping it into a small plate of coarse salt.
  • Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add the tequila, mango puree, fresh lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup to the shaker.
  • Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes frosty.
  • Fill your prepared glass with fresh ice.
  • Strain the margarita into the glass.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel and a small mango slice on the rim of the glass.

Notes

  • For the best flavor, use fully ripened mangoes. The natural sweetness means you can reduce or eliminate the simple syrup.
