Ingredients

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz Bourbon

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz Allspice Dram

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz Fresh Lime Juice

  • 10 ml 1/3 fl oz Simple Syrup

  • 2 dashes 2 dashes Angostura Bitters

  • Ice

Equipment

  • Cocktail shaker
  • Jigger
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Fine strainer
  • Coupe glass

Instructions

  • Start by chilling your coupe glass. You can do this by placing it in the freezer or filling it with ice water.
  • In a cocktail shaker, combine bourbon, allspice dram, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and two dashes of Angostura bitters.
  • Add ice to the shaker and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled.
  • Using both a Hawthorne and a fine strainer, strain the cocktail into the chilled glass to remove any ice shards.
  • Garnish with a lime twist or a star anise for an aromatic finish.

Notes

  • If you can’t find allspice dram, you can make your own by infusing rum with allspice berries and sweetening it with sugar.
