Ingredients
60 ml 2 fl oz Scotch whisky
15 ml 1/2 fl oz honey
15 ml 1/2 fl oz fresh lemon juice
180 ml 6 fl oz hot water
1 1 cinnamon stick
2 2 cloves
1 1 lemon wheel for garnish

Instructions
- Boil water in your kettle.
- Warm your mug by filling it with hot water, then discard the water after a few seconds.
- Add honey to the bottom of the warmed mug.
- Pour in the whisky and fresh lemon juice.
- Stir well with a bar spoon until the honey is completely dissolved.
- Add the hot water (not boiling, it should be around 80°C/175°F to preserve the alcohol).
- Insert the cinnamon stick and cloves.
- Stir gently to combine all ingredients.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel placed on the rim of the glass.
- Let the cocktail steep for about 1 minute before drinking.
Notes
- Traditional Scottish hot toddies use Scotch whisky, but Irish whiskey or bourbon work beautifully as well. Each spirit brings its own character to the drink.
