Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri Cocktail Recipe

The Frozen Strawberry Daiquiri stands as a refreshing testament to the perfect marriage of rum, fresh fruit, and crushed ice. While the original Daiquiri hails from Cuba as a simple shake of rum, lime, and sugar, this frozen berry variation emerged during the mid-20th century as refrigeration technology advanced. The result is a beautifully balanced cocktail that delivers brightness from lime, sweetness from berries, and complexity from quality rum.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz white rum

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz fresh lime juice

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz simple syrup

  • 150 g 1 cup frozen strawberries

  • 120 g 3/4 cup ice cubes

  • 1 1 fresh strawberry for garnish (optional)

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Hurricane glass
  • Citrus press

Instructions

  • Add the frozen strawberries and ice to the blender.
  • Pour in the white rum, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup.
  • Blend on high speed until smooth and no chunks remain – about 20-30 seconds.
  • Stop and scrape down the sides if needed, then blend again briefly to ensure a perfectly smooth consistency.
  • Pour the mixture into a chilled hurricane glass or large coupe.
  • Garnish with a fresh strawberry on the rim if desired.

Notes

  • The texture should be similar to a thick smoothie. If it’s too thick to pour easily, add a splash of water or rum and pulse briefly.
