Ingredients

  • 30 ml 30 bourbon

  • 15 ml 15 fresh lemon juice

  • 15 ml 15 simple syrup

  • 120 ml 120 chilled champagne or prosecco

  • lemon or orange twist, for garnish

  • Champagne flute

Instructions

  • Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Pour the bourbon, fresh lemon juice, and simple syrup into the shaker.
  • Shake well for about 15 seconds to combine and chill the ingredients.
  • Strain the mixture into a champagne flute.
  • Top up with chilled champagne or prosecco.
  • Garnish with a lemon twist

Notes

  • To make simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Allow the syrup to cool before using it in your cocktail. Store any leftover simple syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one month.
