  • 30 ml 1 fl oz Dry Vermouth

  • 2 dashes 2 dashes Angostura Bitters

  • Lemon twist, for garnish

  • Ice cubes

Equipment

Instructions

  • Begin by chilling your martini glass in the freezer or by filling it with ice water to ensure your cocktail stays cold.
  • In a mixing glass, combine the rye whiskey, dry vermouth, and Angostura bitters. Use a jigger for precise measurements.
  • Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir the mixture gently with a bar spoon for about 30 seconds. This allows the ingredients to chill and properly dilute.
  • Discard the ice from your cocktail glass if you used it to chill, then strain the stirred cocktail mixture into the glass using a strainer.
  • Garnish your Dry Manhattan with a lemon twist by expressing the oils over the surface of the drink and dropping it into the glass.
