Ingredients

  • 90 ml 3 fl oz Red wine

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz Canadian whisky

  • 7.5 ml 1/4 fl oz Maple syrup

Equipment

  • Mixing glass
  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Coupe glass

Instructions

  • Place the coupe glass in the freezer for a few minutes, or fill it with ice water while preparing the cocktail.
  • In a mixing glass, combine the red wine, whisky, and maple syrup (if desired). The maple syrup adds sweetness, but you can leave it out for a drier cocktail.
  • Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir the mixture for about 20-30 seconds to chill and dilute it slightly.
  • Using a Hawthorne strainer, carefully strain the mixture into the chilled coupe glass.
  • Finish with a lemon twist to add a zesty aroma.
