Ingredients

  • 60 ml 60 bourbon whiskey

  • 15 ml 15 pure maple syrup

  • 3 dashes 3 chocolate bitters

  • 1 dash 1 Angostura bitters

  • 1 dash 1 large marshmallow for garnish

  • Graham cracker crumbs and chocolate shavings for rim (optional)

Equipment

  • Jigger
  • Bar spoon
  • Rock glass
  • Mixing glass
  • Kitchen blowtorch

Instructions

  • If desired, prepare the glass by wetting the rim with a small amount of syrup and dipping it into a mixture of graham cracker crumbs and chocolate shavings.
  • Add a large ice cube to your rocks glass.
  • In a mixing glass, combine bourbon, maple syrup, chocolate bitters, and Angostura bitters.
  • Add ice to the mixing glass and stir for about 30 seconds until well-chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into the prepared rocks glass over the large ice cube.
  • Garnish with a freshly toasted marshmallow on a cocktail pick.
  • For an extra touch, you can lightly smoke the glass before pouring in the cocktail.

Notes

  • For an authentic campfire experience, use a smoke box or cloche with wood chips to add a hint of smoke to your glass before pouring the cocktail. Hickory or applewood chips work wonderfully.
