Ingredients

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz gin

  • 22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz fresh lime juice

  • 22.5 ml 3/4 fl oz simple syrup

  • Ice

  • Lime wheel for garnish

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Hawthorne strainer
  • Jigger
  • Coupe glass
  • Citrus press

Instructions

  • Chill your glass. Place the coupe glass in the freezer for 2-3 minutes while preparing the cocktail.
  • Combine ingredients. Add gin, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup to your cocktail shaker.
  • Add ice and shake. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 15-20 seconds until the outside feels ice cold.
  • Strain and serve. Double strain into the chilled coupe glass to ensure clarity.
  • Garnish. Express oils from a lime wheel over the drink’s surface, then drop it in.

Notes

  • Gin selection matters. London Dry gins like Tanqueray or Plymouth work beautifully, while Hendrick’s adds subtle cucumber notes. Avoid overly floral gins that compete with the lime.
