Ingredients

  • 120 ml 4 fl oz  Spanish red wine (preferably Tempranillo or Garnacha)

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz blackberry brandy

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz triple sec

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz fresh orange juice

  • 1 teaspoon 1 tsp simple syrup

  • 60 g 1/2 cup fresh blackberries

  • 1/4 1/4 orange, sliced

  • 1/4 1/4 apple, diced

  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  • In your glass, add half of the fresh blackberries and gently muddle them to release their juices and flavor.
  • Add the diced apple and orange slices to the glass.
  • Pour in the red wine, blackberry brandy, triple sec, orange juice, and simple syrup.
  • Stir gently to combine all ingredients and dissolve the sugar if using.
  • Add ice to fill the glass about ¾ full.
  • Add the remaining blackberries to the glass.
  • Garnish with additional blackberries and an orange slice.
  • For the best flavor, let your sangria chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving, though 4 hours is ideal to allow the flavors to fully meld.
