The Miami Vice cocktail is a tropical drink that captures the essence of a beach party in a glass. This delicious cocktail is a festive fusion of two popular drinks: the creamy and smooth Piña Colada, originating from Puerto Rico, and the refreshing and fruity Strawberry Daiquiri, with roots tied to Cuba.

Ingredients
60 ml 2 fl oz light rum
30 ml 1 fresh lime juice
30 ml 1 fl oz simple syrup
5 1/8 fl oz fresh strawberries
60 ml 2 fl oz cream of coconut
60 ml 2 fl oz pineapple juice
1 handful 1 crushed ice
Equipment
Cocktail Shaker
Jigger
Hurricane glass
Bar spoon
Instructions
- Prepare the Strawberry Daiquiri layer:
- In a blender, combine half of the light rum, all of the lime juice, all of the simple syrup, all of the strawberries, and half of the crushed ice.
- Blend until smooth and set aside.
- Prepare the Piña Colada layer:
- Clean the blender and add the remaining half of the light rum, all of the cream of coconut, all of the pineapple juice, and the remaining half of the crushed ice.
- Blend until smooth.
- Assemble the cocktail:
- Pour the Piña Colada mixture into the hurricane glass, filling it halfway.
- Gently pour the Strawberry Daiquiri mixture on top, creating a layered effect.
- Do not stir; the layers should remain separate.
- Garnish and serve:
- Optional: Garnish with a pineapple wedge, strawberry, or cocktail umbrella and serve.
Notes
- For the best layered effect, make sure both mixtures are well-blended and have a similar consistency. You can adjust the amount of ice in each layer to achieve this. If you prefer a stronger drink, you can increase the rum proportion slightly, dividing it equally between the two layers.
