Ingredients

  • 10 leaves 10 leaves Fresh mint leaves

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz Lime juice

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz Simple syrup

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz Bourbon

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz Club soda

  • Ice cubes

  • Lime wheel

  • Mint sprig

Equipment

  • Muddler
  • jigger
  • bar spoon
  • Rock glass

Instructions

  • Place the mint leaves at the bottom of the rock glass. Add the lime juice and simple syrup. Gently muddle the mint leaves with a muddler to release their flavor, but be careful not to tear them.
  • Pour in the bourbon, then fill the glass with ice cubes.
  • Use a bar spoon to stir the mixture gently. Top off the drink with club soda.
  • Garnish with a lime wheel and a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a more intense mint flavor, slap the mint leaves between your hands before muddling to release more oils.
  • If you prefer a slightly sweeter cocktail, adjust the amount of simple syrup to taste.
