Ingredients

  • 60 ml 2 fl oz Bourbon

  • 30 ml 1 fl oz fresh lemon juice

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz simple syrup

  • 15 ml 1/2 fl oz blackberry liqueur

  • 5 1/8 fl oz fresh blackberries

  • Club soda

  • Ices cubes

Equipment

  • Shaker
  • Muddler
  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • Old-fashioned glass

Instructions

  • Place 5 fresh blackberries in a shaker and muddle them well.
  • Add the bourbon, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and blackberry liqueur to the shaker.
  • Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds until well-chilled.
  • Strain the mixture into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice, allowing some of the muddled blackberry to make its way into the glass.
  • Top up with club soda for a light, fizzy finish.
  • Garnish with a fresh blackberry and a lemon twist.

Notes

  • For a slightly different flavor profile, you can substitute the club soda with a splash of ginger beer, adding a subtle spice that complements the bourbon and blackberries beautifully.
